Night markets in Tainan!

Sorry for the late update since I was busy with thesis. Haiz...

Anyway this post is bout Night markets!! yeha!! Speaking about Taiwan Night Markets, it's all bout the food, games and shopping!!

So, technically there are 3 night markets in Tainan, namely Da Dong night market, Hua Yuan night market and Wu Sheng night market. According to the locals, the night markets are opened at respective days. They start at 6.00pm and closes at about 12 or 1 am.

MONDAY-- DA DONG
TUESDAY-- DA DONG
WEDNESDAY--WU SHENG
THURSDAY--HUA YUAN
FRIDAY--DA DONG
SATURDAY--WU SHENG & HUA YUAN
SUNDAY--HUA YUAN

First up, DaDong Night market. Well, honestly, I'm not sure how to take the public transport there since i either walked or cycled there.

*The night market sign.

*Barbecue Pork Japanese style.
NTD 45 each.
I love them all!

*Smelly tau fu.
NTD 60

*Ice cream shaped marshmallow

*Golden Sandwhich
Bacon and meat floss respectively.
NTD 25.

 *Tradisional Pork BBQ.
NTD 50

*Taiwan local food.
They charge according to what you take and how much you take.
I wasn't a fan of it since it's quite spicy.

*Taiwan Mochi Custom Made Flavour.
7 pieces for NTD 100.
It's chewy and all but the taste is just so-so.

*The best mihun in Taiwan!
NTD 20
I love love love this taste of mihun. Just like back in Malaysia.

*Meat pau which is unexpectedly delicious.
NTD 50

*Fried Chicken Pieces
NTD 50 -MEDIUM SIZE

*Another Taiwan BBQ.
I think it's of lamb if my memory serves me correctly.
NTD 60

*Duck meat mihun/mee soup.
NTD 60
Personally i never liked this type of soup base which is pretty common in Taiwan.
The soup is slightly sticky with a slight vinegar taste.
I prefer my soup salty and watery. The Malaysian Chinese style. :)

*Papaya Milk
NTD 35

I seen a lot of this around but I didn't have the courage to try. Well the name is CHOU CHOU GUO, which literally meant smelly pot.

NEXT UP, Hua Yuan Market. In all honesty, I also don't know how to get here since i walked 2km from Shennong Street and  got back to my hostel by taxi.

*The market sign.

*Fried fish stick
NTD 10 each

*Fish ball curry
NTD 60

*Duck blood (literally)
NTD 50
It is actually quite nice. Taste jelly like and better than pig's blood.

Both are quite spicy though the fish ball curry is little spicy while the duck blood is max spicy.

*Taiwan local food - LU WEI
These are marinated food of Taiwan. I didn't try it because i wasn't really a fan of it.
They charge depending on what and how much you take.

*Taiwan dorayaki.
NTD 25
Well, according to the uncle, this is the original snack before dorayaki. I tried the butter flavour while my friend tried the coconut flavour. Honestly, it was just so-so for me.

*Interesting food stalls which I didn't get to try since i was too full.

*Some game stalls available.

I didn't go to Wu Sheng Night market since it wasn't really recommended by my Taiwan friends but if you prefer small and less crowded night market, then you should drop by to check it out.

All in all, these are just what i managed to take pictures of and are what I feel it's memorable to me. Of course, there are a lot of other food stalls, game stalls etc so feel free to explore them yourselves!

Signing off,
